Tynemouth Abbey, Tynemouth, Tyne & Wear. 10/02/11 Located overlooking the mouth of the River Tyne the ruins of the Abbey and it's graveyard have been photographed from South Shields on the opposite side of the Tyne. Positioned in front of the Abbey is Tynemouth Life Station which keeps watch over the North Sea.
